Right now we're just kinda stuck with a CGI trailer and stuff from those they let see gameplay which seem to be painting two different images, if we're lucky it'll just turn out they suck at marketing with those talking about gameplay being more accurate to it then the trailer.ĭid we ever see that? The boss joins when its already formed but I don't know if they had flashbacks or anything for it in 1, though this does seem to be a different sort of take on it with their start being moved to sometime in the future. Which, as noted before this seems closer to WD2s group and that'd be pretty odd for them. The odd bit here is whats been said for the activities the group get involved in crime wise don't seem like they fit what the trailer was showing, like the main one been said is taking over a food place to use as a front for drug running. I guess its part of wanting to do a story of the saints becoming a large gang but still wanted players incharge something like this would kind of have to be done, can't really take charge of Julius is around and 2 was based around their comeback with the boss already having experience as part of the saints. Kind of wish that the reboot was in Agents of Mayhem's supervillain-on-supervillain setting, but I suspect I'm in the minority on that one. Otherwise, I don't feel particularly strongly on the matter. To some extent, I think that's because Saints Row 2 had better storytelling compared to either 3 or 4. As far as I'm concerned, best Gat was Saints Row 2 Gat, who was a lot less hyped-up than in subsequent titles but had a bit more narrative substance to him. An occasional change of setting is good as far as I'm concerned.Ĭharacter-wise, I have more mixed feelings. And Steelport was fine, though overused because if I'm remembering right, the Saints Row series got hit hard by THQ THQing towards the end.

The change of setting doesn't bug me that much. Ultimately, I'm in as long as I get to run around in a ridiculous costume with a ridiculous weapon while running around in a semi-ridiculous setting.
